I'm in Great Falls, hanging out with my parents until my dad goes in for surgery tomorrow. It's supposed to be a routine procedure and nothing to be freaked out about, although I am of course freaked out. Too much Grey's Anatomy will do that to you. Thank God I stopped watching ER seven years ago. Me and everyone else. In honor of my freaking-outedness, I am embracing my superstitious side. Although I am planning to stay only a couple of days, I packed enough clothes for several days. I brought my computer so that I can work. I figure that if I've prepared to stay a while, I won't need to.
Yes, I'm crazy (and, apparently, quite self-absorbed!). Don't judge me. I've also been known to pack coats to prevent snow and leave umbrellas at home to bring on rain. (Conversely, I'm afraid that the 2002 Prague floods were pretty much my fault, since I never once remembered to bring an umbrella to work. Sorry, Karlin!) Not even my weird psychological issues have been able to force me to complete all the work I have due this week, however. Alas, superstition cannot trump procrastination.
Wish us luck.
